The judges are on top of it this morning...

Just so y'all know, it's looking like there'll be three more prompts this year. The next one will go live Monday, November 7th.

Also, I'm looking at a couple different contest ideas for 2012. One option is to keep doing what we've been doing. If you have another suggestion, I'd be happy to entertain it. Please email me by clicking here.

In no particular order, here's the list of writers who made the top 20:

Lindsey Bradford
Faye Rhys
Micah Eaton
Chloe Krivan
Caroline Niesen
Becki Badger
Jessica Staricka
Emii Krivan
Tonya LaCourse
JT no-last-name
Whitney Stephens
Kaitlyn Evensen
Rachelle Rea
Rebecca Pennefather
Rachel Crew
Morgan Sutton
Alyssa Liljequist
Katie Scheidhauer
Rayna Huffman
Julie-Anne Hepfner

Congratulations everyone!

  3. I have tried looking on the internet for any contests like the one you're currently doing, and I can't find any. So, I'd say, perhaps keep doing what you're doing (maybe changing it a little), because this is the only one out there for young writers, and it would be a shame for there to be none at all.

    Micah, thank you :)

Carrie, there's no way I'm cancelling because they're way too fun!

  7. Now, Becki. You did a great job "showing" your happiness. You didn't need to "tell" it :)

Sorry, dorky writer's joke. Those are accepted here, right?

  8. Bahahahahahaha...Well, that was just my first draft. Now I get to go back and make sure I didn't drop any plot lines or mess up on character development. ;)

  9. *Happy squeal!* That was so fast! Thank you, Sarah!

Congrats to everyone! Stephanie, I'm so glad the prompts aren't going anywhere soon! :-) They are so much fun and spark so much creativity! Plus they are PERFECT for writing practice - short enough to do during school semesters and yet a challenge, too.

    Becki, LOL, just LOL.

  12. I'm JT no-last-name, henceforth JT Valun. When I saw myself listed, I shouted 'yes! I made it!' Hyper over this. I think I've really (almost) got the hang of it

  16. okay so I was thinking about new contest ideas and thought, what if you give us a characte, what's he/she is like, and then a problem they have to deal with. Then we have to write the first page??? or a short story or something...I haven't figured that part out...just an idea :D

  17. Hannah, that could be fun! I'll add that to my list. Thank you!
