Big News Day and the Top 11

Usually Thursday is news day around here (Well, okay, the one news day we had last week was on Thursday) but that didn't work out this week. So today is news day, and we'll be back to regularly scheduled programming around here next week.

If you have big news you'd like to share next Thursday - a published article, finishing a first draft, signing up for a writing class, etc. - please email me at Stephanie(at)GoTeenWriters.com with "News Day" in the subject line. I'm happy to post a link to your blog or a picture of you as well, if you so choose.

This week's big news:

  • Talia DeAndrea finished NaNoWriMo!
  • So did Shelby Stoddart, who mentioned her final word count was 50,200. Awesome!
Way to go, guys, (For those who don't know what NaNoWriMo is, you can find out more at their website.)

There was some chatter on the Go Teen Writers Facebook page about NaNo winners as well, so if you also won NaNo, feel free time chime in below! You can even share what your story is about, if you'd like.

And these people have big news too:

Nicole Goddard
Rebecca Pennefather
Katy McCurdy
Emma King
Helga
Cosette Russell
Jessica Staricka
Gillian Adams
Jordan Newhouse
Jenna Blake Morris
Rachel Crew

There were 59 entries for the 265-word free write, and the above writers made the top 11. (Listed in no particular order.) Congratulations!

Have a great weekend everyone!

  11. So does everyone get the regular feedback like always or is it just the top 11?

  12. Yes, Natalie, everyone will get feedback! The top 11 get line edits, but hopefully I'll have everyone's feedback in their inbox by the end of tomorrow. Thanks for being patient!

  13. Do we get points that apply toward the overall ranking in the "Writing Prompt Contest Standings" for this free write?

Disagreement is welcome. Rudeness is not. Please be considerate of each other!
