100 for 100 writing challenge update

For those of you who are participating in the 100 for 100 challenge, I wanted to let you guys know we've had a slight change to the rules. We're implementing a "grace week." Which means if one week you only write 500 words or 200 words or even 0 words, you just plug the number into your slot on the spreadsheet and we'll count it as your grace week. Because sometimes life happens and there's just no point in beating yourself up over it.

We're almost to the end of week three! Happy writing!

  1. I really wish we had learned this earlier. I've already used my grace week!

    1. We hadn't thought of it until this week. This is our first time doing the contest so we're still learning :)

  2. Hopefully, I'll never have to use that...but it's true: life does happen. So I might have to anyway. LOL

Thanks! So far this has been great--only missed one day so far (yes!!!!). It's really made me stop editing while I'm writing. I realized I've never really written a "first draft" before; I always edit it while I go along, which really slows me down. I'm loving making myself keep writing and not having to worry that this isn't "good enough"--because if it isn't, I'll just get rid of it later ;)

  4. Great, so if I ever have something drastic happen I'll fall back on the grace week. I haven't had any major problems or complaints. This was a really great idea! I just love it! Sierra

  5. This is good, because I've realised that I'm probably going to finish my current novel (yay!) partway through the challenge, and I might need to use that break to plan what I'm going to write next.
This challenge has been great so far, I love it :)

  6. This challenge has really been a HUGE blessing for me and my friends :) We started a whole Facebook group so that we can communicate and chat. We've been doing word wars with each other and we keep each other accountable for our word counts each day.

I've truly never written so much in my life, so I wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for putting this together! And thank you for the grace week! I hope we never have to use it, but I'm glad to know it's there if something happens. :)

  7. I'm really enjoying this challenge--getting me to write at least *something* almost every day. I aim for 100 words but always surprise myself with over 300 words! LOL It's been wonderful to have a mini accountability thing going on with Sarah Elizabeth & Rachelle--they're THE BEST!

  8. Thank goodness! I had to research all this week so I haven't done much writing.

  9. Nice. I’ve gotten my words written every day (several times I remember after I’m in bed and have to get up again *smiles*. We didn’t have internet yesterday, so I didn’t get the words on the spreadsheet until today, I hope that’s not a problem… Thank you so much for doing this, by the way! ~Aidyl

    1. It's not a problem at all, Aidyl. I won't tally everything until the end anyway :)
