    1. My favorite villain...I'll have to say Voldemort. That guy was so creepy. After that Galbatoriz from the Inheritance cycle, or maybe Darth Sidious from Star Wars. Or President Snow. I could keep going.

  2. Harvey Dent from batman is a really interesting character to me.

  3. My favorite fictional villain is definitely the Dragon from Tales of Goldstone Wood. He's completely, utterly evil, but in an absolutely non-cheesy way, and he's the scariest villain I've ever encountered in my life. There's a reason he's known as the Destroyer of Dreams and Death-in-Life.

  4. Does Jack Sparrow count? He's a sort of antagonist/protagonist. I love his character!

  5. Steelheart from Brandon Sanderson's Reckoners series.

  6. Hmmmm...Starkey from the Unwind series. So deep and complex and you know, psychotic.

  7. Well,if we're talking books I'd say Lord Voldemort. But, if we're talking movies, Loki wins hands down.

  8. While Melkor makes the best scare-the-readers villain, I have to say my favorite villain (in a novel) would be Smaug. There is something about his intensely intelligent comments and riddles that I love, and of course, being a jewel encrusted dragon is magnificent!
But (including movies and TV shows) my favorite villain would have to be Morgana from the TV series, Merlin. The writer of that show (and the actor who played her) did an amazing job of showing her evolution from a good character to a villain.

  9. Ted Dekker and Steven James both have great villains. And of course, there's Lord Voldemort!

    1. As for Television, my favorites are Morgana(BBC's Merlin) and the Borg from Star Trek. They're villainous people, at least.

  10. Hmm that's a hard decision... But I do love one of my villains, Nilah. She's one of those snazzy, pretty, disdainful villains if you know what I mean :)

  12. So many villains to choose from. Sauron? Sauron's pretty cool. Or Smaug. :) I like dragons.

  13. Hard decision... But I'll go with the dragon in The Oath by Frank Peretti. He is pure evil!

  14. My favorite fictional villain would have to be the Joker. He thinks up new ways to capture the Dark Knight, and he's funny. But Joker is tied with Loki, so it's a hard decision.

  15. My favorite villain on T.V is Rumpelstiltskin from Once Upon a Time, and for a novel it would be Gaea from Heroes of Olympus.

    1. Oh I love The Heroes of Olympus!!! *virtual high five*

  16. Oh, my beautiful villains. Loki, Dr. Nero, Galbatorix, the Darkling... anyone who can make me swoon.

  17. Ooh, there are so many good villians! The Morrow Days from Keys to the Kingdom were a fantastic set of antagonists. Voldemort is a great campy sort of villain, I love him, and the Joker is great across all his fiction appearances.

  18. I love villains, more often than not, more than the heroes. I'm just rattling off some of my favorites: Loki, Joker (LOVE him. So awesome), Rumpelstiltskin, Regina, Ursula, Cruella, and many, many more. One of my favorite things about villains is when there is depth to them, I love connecting to them (even if they're like the Joker).

  19. Oh man. I really liked Murtagh in the inheritance cycle while he was the bad guy, but I like any villain that I can truly hate with no reservations.

    ReplyDelete
  20. VOLDEMORT! Dude, props to J.K. Rowling for the creepiest villain ever.

  21. Ahhh such a hard question!!! I'd have to go with Norman Bates from Psycho. There are just so many angles to him! And there is of course Damien from my favorite trilogy:) I did a report on him for my English class for a modern book villain. I received a 97%!

  22. OOH, that's SO hard. There are so many terrible (in a good way) villains out there. ;) I don't think I could pick one top villian, but since my head has been stuck in Tolkien's mythology of late, I'll list Morgoth and the dragon Glaurung as two favorites, both of them villains of epic proportions.

  23. Oh Well I will go with the first one that comes to mind Chauvelin from "the scarlet pimpernel".

    ReplyDelete
  24. Javert from 'Les Miserables' would probably be my favorite.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Voldemort from Harry Potter... and River Song from Doctor Who!

    1. Why do you say River is a villain? Just curious cause I always thought of her as one of the good guys.

  26. I really like the way Blanca is done in The Glass Sentence but there are so many other amazing villains out there it's hard to choose.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Voldemort would have to be my favorite. He's just such a compelling villain.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Favorite villain would beee... Hrrrmmm... Oh gosh this is hard... Villains that are like able are always best... Ones that have a dark side and a good side... Like Elsa from Frozen or... Jack Sparrow from POTC. But my favorite villain is President Snow from THG. He's really creepy! :) Also, the Mockingjay was totally amazing so why not love the villain?

    1. Wait!!! Or Malificant from well... Malificant! She is very... Believable! :)

(*note, no clue how to spell that)

  29. Oh my goodness! I'm the kind of girl who kinda loves to hate villains, so to have to pick one... Aaah! Impossible.
But I think Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader takes the cake. He has the most interesting backstory, and getting to see his downward spiral in the prequels was awesome and awful at the same time. It just makes me feel so bad for little Ani, and then hate Darth Vader.
Also, Loki. He's cool, charismatic, and so darn funny. Ooh, and Scar from The Lion King. I could probably think of more if I just kept typing, so I'm gonna go ahead and stop.

  30. My favorite villain is the Joker. Despite the mayhem he cause, he still can be hilarious.

  31. Um...maybe Javert from Les Mis. Or Bellatrix from Harry Potter. I'm also rather partial to one of my villains, Castor.

  32. Ooooh. I don't have any of the Angel Eyes books, but I've read and loved them all. In fact, I was just thinking about them Sunday when my pastor was describing how it must've looked to the shepherds... :)

I'm not sure I have a favorite villain. Because, you know, I tend to not like them... :)

  33. You guys are awesome! It seems Voldemort is a very popular choice and I fully understand why! Lately, I've been thinking about the old Terminator movies. Remember those? Skynet is a terrifying villain. Can we call a computer system a villain?

  34. Lex Luthor in Smallville. At the beginning, he has a good side--he's a good friend to Clark, which makes his slow descent to evil even worse. He has a choice between the darkness inside him and the goodness he sees in Clark--and he chooses evil. It's heartwrenching, especially for fangirls (heh heh...) who loved Lex perhaps as much as Clark.

  35. I think one of my favorite fictional villains would be Black Donald in The Hidden Hand by EDEN Southworth--such a character!

  36. Boba fett from legacy of the force series.
