The opening line for my book is, "Never mind that," said the enchantress.<br />I like leaving the characters anonymous for a minute in the prologue. My favorite book series is Warriors by Erin Hunter. That also happens to be my favorite opening. But then again, the opening scene sets the stage for the rest of the book. Warriors in the prologue drops you I'm the middle of a scene with anonymous characters. Sometimes, we don't know who the characters are! It makes me crazy but pills me in effectively.Bridget Swannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4024721400572472213.post-73661129125502047762016-09-25T00:24:31.262-05:002016-09-25T00:24:31.262-05:00thanks this was usefull

Maybe that's what makes a book great--when the world and characters remain in your memory so vividly, like memories of real people and places, that you don't even recall the author's involvement. :-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4024721400572472213.post-45926681440826870852015-05-12T07:24:44.483-05:002015-05-12T07:24:44.483-05:00One of my favorite opening scenes is from The Hidd...One of my favorite opening scenes is from The Hidden Hand by E.D.E.N. Many think it's dull and an ineffective way to start a middle grade book. But you can't argue with sales, really. I agree with you, that Rowling's voice and the way she is poking fun of Mr. Dursley, makes for an enchanting opening.Stephanie Morrillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13128389560727867719noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4024721400572472213.post-32833328118224648242015-05-11T21:24:00.802-05:002015-05-11T21:24:00.802-05:00I love when authors do something clever like that....I love when authors do something clever like that.
