This past summer I created a video on the topic of how to format a manuscript. I know that some of you participated in the Next Gen Writers Conference, but for those who weren't able to, here is my class. And for those who've already seen it, it never hurts to review, right?
If you can't see it very well, click through to YouTube and watch it there. And please keep in mind, the contest I ran for this video is over. But just for fun, you're welcome to post the answers in the comment section. *grin*
Do you have any questions on manuscript format? Is there something that I didn't cover that you've always wondered about?
Thanks for posting it! I wish I could watch it right this second, but I don't have time :( I'll watch it later, though!
ReplyDeleteSo helpful to know that I had everything right! I sort of picked pieces out or various agents websites. The only think I didn't have was the chapters in 12 font. I had them at 16. Thanks!

Good job, Sarah! And you can have your chapter titles bigger if you want. As long as you're consistent with it. I don't think an editor would reject you over that. I keep mind at 12-point, though.
DeleteThis is a little scary...did you somehow read my Google search history? I was trying to search for all of this information this weekend! So yeah, this really is perfect timing for me. I'm so glad you posted this because now I won't be wearing out my tab key as I format ;)
ReplyDeleteIt was my bloodvoicing ability (joke from my fantasy novel). Just kidding. I'm glad it was helpful, Anna. :-)
DeleteI loved that video! It's saved to my favorites. Wierd dude in red shoes ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Maddie. And...
DeleteDoctor Who! He's Doctor Who!
Hey, you mention me! :)
ReplyDeleteI did? What'd I say? LOL
DeleteDoctor Who! Doctor Who is wearing red converse! If you like weird and haven't seen Doctor Who, you must. Good--weird--times.
ReplyDeleteDo you mind if I re-blog? I found it very helpful, especially the part about hos to make your novel title and name appear in the headers!

Nope, please reblog if you'd like. Glad it was helpful. :-)
DeleteOoh, that video looks fantastic! I've bookmarked it, and will be sure to reference it once I'm ready to start submitting to agents. Thank you so much, Jill!
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome. :-)
DeleteITS LARRY BOY! This is also really helpful, thanks!
