Ready to Edit? Tips for Rewriting and a Sale

Jill Williamson is a chocolate loving, daydreaming, creator of kingdoms. She writes weird books for teens in lots of weird genres like, fantasy (Blood of Kings trilogy), science fiction (Replication), and dystopian (The Safe Lands trilogy). Find Jill on FacebookTwitterPinterest, or on her author website.

Stephanie, Shannon, and I want to congratulate all of you who participated in this year's National Novel Writing Month. It's a huge commitment, a lot of work, and whether you reached 50k or not, you stretched your writing skills and we're proud of you.

If you're ready for the next step---ready to edit---we've got some things to offer.

First of all, Stephanie added a new page to the Go Teen Writers website. You'll find it under the "Looking for Something Specific" tab. We've been blogging for many years now, and some of our older posts are still helpful. This list will help you find them by topic. And if you scroll down the page, there is a section on editing to help you with your rewrite.

Second, we're putting the Go Teen Writers ebook on sale from now until Sunday, December 7. The ebook will be .99, and we hope it will help you edit your story. This should be on sale internationally as well.

You can do it! We believe in you.

  1. The Go Teen Writers book is excellent. Loads of valuable information. I bought it in paperback form several months ago and have since read it through at least twice. Anyone who doesn't have it already should definitely take advantage of this awesome sale. :)

  2. I need to find my copy and read it again. I'm going to start editing in January, *blows annoying horn and throws confetti alone* and need to learn all I can--even if it means AGAIN I must learn it! ;) lol
Thanks for all you guys do on this blog and for teen writers!

    Early Merry Christmas! ;)

    God bless!

  4. Yay! My brother bought me my first kindle on Black Friday and I just loaded Go Teen Writers on!

On a side note, I've never done NaNoWriMo before but it was really hard. Keeping the creativity and the writing flowing without going back and fixing things is not my normal style. I did make my 50,000 words though!

  6. Just bought it. :) I love the kindle app - goes right onto my computer. I read the preview in Jill's sampler and loved the way you guys had it written out. Easy to understand and really makes you think about your story.
