Love on Stephanie Morrill Day

Jill here.

(I'm totally going to embarrass some people this month. Mwa ha ha!)

February is "Love an Author" month, and today we're going to love on Stephanie Morrill!

♥ ♥  ♥ ♥

Stephanie is a twenty-something living in Overland Park, Kansas with her husband and two kids. Her only talents are reading, writing, and drinking coffee, so career options were somewhat limited. Fortunately, she discovered a passion for young adult novels and has been writing them ever since. Stephanie is the author of The Reinvention of Skylar Hoyt series, the Ellie Sweet series, and Go Teen Writers: How to Turn Your First Draft into a Published Book. She is also the founder of this very Go Teen Writers blog and the Go Teen Writers Facebook group.

Other ways you can love on Stephanie today:

1. Visit her website at www.StephanieMorrill.com. You can subscribe to her author newsletter on the right-hand sidebar. You can also contact her through her website and email her a note of thanks and/or encouragement.

2. Visit her Amazon.com author page and click "Follow," then write a quick book review for any of her books you have not yet reviewed. See some great reviews? Vote up the ones you find helpful and vote down the ones that aren't helpful.

3. Visit her Goodreads page and become her fan by clicking on the button under her author picture. And while you're there, scroll down to her books and add them to your To Read list. If you wrote any Amazon.com reviews, paste them here as well.

4. Follow her on Twitter.

5. "Like" her Facebook page.

6. Follow her on Pinterest

Stephanie works very hard to keep the Go Teen Writers blog and the Facebook page going strong. Her first love is writing novels, and her books are fabulous. If you haven't read them, you should! I adore Stephanie. Leave her some encouraging comments below or shower her Facebook page with love today.

We love you, Stephanie!

  12. I can't thank you enough, Stephanie, for all the work you put in for us aspiring writers. I've only followed this blog for a couple years, but just in that time I went from not even knowing what a query was to knowing the publishing process pretty thoroughly. And the quality of my writing has vastly improved because of your helpful posts. I believe you have the gift of teaching. You put things so simply. Concepts I've struggled for years to grasp suddenly become so clear when you teach them. There aren't enough words to express all that GTW has done for me.

I read your books in just a few sittings because I couldn't possibly put them down. You weave such real and loveable characters I just had to see their journey to the end. And now I miss them and think a reread is due!

You're amazing, Stephanie, I am so grateful for all you do!

  13. Thank you for everything you've done for us, Stephanie. Your books are so well written that I feel like the characters could be my friends, and I think I might have read them ten times or more. I'm also incredibly grateful that you take the time to give us such good advice - especially when you have two young children to look after - thank you so much for being an inspiration.

  16. I love that you are showing authors love like this on GTW. Such an amazing and sweet idea.
I thought I could tick off all the things you listed, but then realised I hadn't become a fan yet on Goodreads. I adored the Ellie Sweet books and am curious to read more from Stephanie.

  22. Guys, I'm so touched by this. Thank you! What a day to be doused in encouragement. We're really in the thick of it with our son right now, but I'll respond individually later today!

  23. I approve of this day. XD

Stephanie, you're amazing. I was at a friend's house the other day, and Veronica Mars was on, and I instantly thought of you. So I took a minute to pray for you and Connor, and then got the rest of my family to pray too. <3

I'm going to the OYAN Summer Workshop this year, and I'm really excited to meet you! I absolutely adore your writing, even though I usually don't like contemporary fiction, and your posts on here are so helpful and encouraging. Thank you for starting this blog--it's inspired to me reach for my writing dreams, given me the help I needed to write better, and not to mention led me and my "best writer buddy" to each other, and I can't imagine life without having her to call at a moment's notice. We love you!

  32. Thank you so much for teaching us all about the writing process, the publishing world, and random little writer things. I appreciate all the work you put into helping the next generation of writers. :) Thank you especially for all the kind responses to our questions and worries.

But one thing...that bio says "twenty-something," but I'm afraid that's not exactly true anymore, is it? ;)

Praying for Connor and your family!

    1. Oopsy. I stole that bio from your Amazon.com page, Steph. ;-)

    2. I'm glad you found it! Obviously I need to update it :) I should just make a list of every place I have a bio posted so that when I change them, I can make sure I catch them all. Hmm...

  34. Stephanie, I can't tell you enough how much of a blessing you've been in my life! Ever since I discovered Go Teen Writers a few years ago now, you've inspired me to become a better writer, to work outside my comfort zone, and to become a part of this wonderful teen writing community. I probably wouldn't be writing regularly if it weren't for you and this blog. I'm so thankful for the time you spend helping all of us writers and writing such wonderful blog posts. Plus, as you know, you're one of my favorite authors. I've read and loved every single one of your books, and your characters have inspired me at the perfect times in my life. You're a rock star!

P.S. Still keeping Connor and the rest of your family in my prayers!

  35. Mrs. Morrill, you will never imagine how much I have to thank you for. If it were not for you, I would probably have never had the courage to write a whole lot of the stories that were swimming around in my mind. I would not have dared to publish anything, and least of all would I dare to write a novel. Yet now I have done all three, and more. You have more than changed my writing: you have changed my view, my mindset, for the very much better. You have made me so much more confident. God bless you, and keep rockin'! ;)

  36. Thank you for starting this site. I look forward to the posts every single day and they inspire me to keep on puttering along in my WIP which is epically (apparently epically isn't a word) failing right now. Thanks for all you do!

  37. I realize I'm a little late, but thank you so much for EVERYTHING, Mrs. Morrill! I have no idea where I'd be without this fanTAStic site. Again, thank you for everything! ^_^

    (P.S. I follow you on pinterest :))

  38. I'm two days late, but gotta send my love! Mrs. Morrill, you are amazing!

I recently bought the entire Skylar Hoyt series. I usually don't buy a whole series, because I always want to try out the first one first, just see if I'll like it. Not in this case. I know I'm going to love Skylar's story, as much as I did Ellie's.
