Love on YOU day

Happy Valentine's Day!

February is "Love an Author" month, and today we're going to love on YOU! Here is a small sampling of those of you who are a part of the Go Teen Writers Facebook group. You are all so beautiful!

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Go Teen Writers was established in 2010 when Stephanie Morrill wanted to create a place to encourage and connect teen writers. In 2012 when she and Jill Williamson learned they shared that passion, they joined forces. Currently there are 1231 followers, 688 members of the Facebook group, 1,300 Newsletter subscribers, and 40,000 page views each month. The writers who hang out on the blog are some of the most encouraging, helpful, and hard working writers in the industry. They know how to respect their dream while taking care of fellow writers and having fun along the way.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Ways to love on each other today:

1. If you're friends with some Go Teen Writers followers, email, Tweet, or Facebook each other some encouraging comments to brighten everyone's day.

2. Choose a few ways you'd like to be followed or supported and post those links in a comment below. Take your time and try and get all your links in one comment. (Hopefully we won't have trouble with spam...) You can also leave encouraging comments for each other below.

3. For those of you who are on Facebook, I've started a thread for each of the major outlets in which you can be followed. Go there and post your links on the appropriate thread, then follow the other people's links on that thread. Let's please try to keep them on the individual threads to make it easier for everyone to find and to not totally take over the wall. Check back later in the day to see who you missed. Let's all follow each other today!

  1. Happy Valentine's Day! I enjoy every post on this blog! They are each superbly helpful and encouraging. My friends here have always been so uplifting and I wish to be the same to other fellow writers!

So, my friends, whatever you do, DON'T stop writing! Even when the road seems pointless and frustrating, press on! You'll be glad you did. :]

On another note, I have a blog, Sarah, Plain & Average (http://sarah-plainandaverage.blogspot.com/), where I share a little bit of my writings, poetry, book reviews, and the like. You can also find me on Pinterest and Instagram! (@sarahpenmaiden)

Thank you for all you do, staff of Go Teen Writers!!

    Happy Valentine's Day, all! <3

    1. Sarah, I LOVE what you've named your blog! Sarah Plain and Tall was one of my favorite books when I was younger (along with the little house books and anne of green gables) ;)

    2. Deborah: Thank you, girlie! Yes, great book. Although I'm not really tall nor short, I'm pretty average and plain, so it fit perfectly!

      Jill: Thank you! ^__^

  2. Happy Valentine's Day to all of you, and keep up the good writing, both to my fellow teen writers, and to the writers of the blog itself. You're all awesome. Don't you dare put down that pencil, wander away from your keyboard, anything like that. Get your story written, even if it's terrible, because you can always fix it later - or write another story that's even better!

And if you'd like to love on me (I'm so very flattered), you can follow me on my blog: knittedbygodsplan.blogspot.com, on facebook, twitter, and pinterest (I'm Kendra E. Ardnek all three places, look me up), and download and share the three books I have free today (they're free in promotion of the new book I released today):

Sew, It's a QUest, which is the story of a pair of royal twins travelling through a fairy tale world in search of the fairy godmother who swapped their gifts.

The Ankulen, which is the story of a teen girl who goes in search of the imagination she abandoned eight years before.

The Woodcutter Quince and Other Stories, which contains a prequel to each of the above stories, and a genderswapped retelling of Cinderella.

I'll have more books free over the next week, if you'd like to keep an eye on my amazon page. Leave reviews if you've read and loved my books. That whole big shabang.

Just remember, you guys are awesome, and if you'd only like to take a risk on one of my books, choose The Ankulen. I wrote it for young writers. Keep up the good work!

  3. This is a fabulous idea! I found the Go Teen Writers blog about one and a half years ago when I was just looking for advice for teen writers and didn't even know what a blog was. I've read all the posts in the archive, and I read the posts everyday. I've learned so much from Go Teen Writers, and I'd say about 90% of my knowledge about the publishing and book writing industry has come from the Go Teen Writers posts. Go Teen Writers also helped me finish my first novel, and reinforce my dream of becoming a published novelist.

You can find me on my blog (https://butterfliesoftheimagination.wordpress.com/) where I write about reading and writing books, and document my own writing and publishing ventures. I would love it if you stopped by and commented on a post or followed me. Once I hit 500 followers (I'm about halfway there), I'll host a critique giveaway!

I'm also on Goodreads quite often, and you can find me here (https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/24080019-ana).

I also pin writing inspiration and resources on Pinterest. You can find me here (https://www.pinterest.com/anatheblogger/).

I've also made tons of writing buddies from Go Teen Writers, so I want to give a shout out to Katie Grace, Athelas Hale, Rachelle O'Neil, Mikayla Holman and Alea Harper. We recently did a really fun editing event together so we'd each make some progress on editing our novels. It involved a ton of virtual groaning over cheesy characters and phrases, but way more motivational high-fives.

Thank you to all the other wonderful young writers on here for letting me know I'm not alone on this crazy adventure, and thanks to Jill, Stephanie and Shannon for giving me such useful advice. You guys are the best!

@Rachelle: I totally understand, Rachelle. Life can get so busy sometimes that writing just has to be pushed out of the way. Hopefully you'll have more time soon.

@Jill: Thanks so much for following my blog, Jill. It means so much to me.

@Ally: I thought I recognized your name from somewhere. :D I love Bookish Serendipity. Thanks so much for following my blog. I'm a new follower of yours, now!

  4. Happy Valentines Day to everyone!

I found Go Teen Writers a while back, and I remember immediately loving all their detailed posts and helpful tips to writers, and I found them especially helpful to a beginner writer. I love this blog so much and all the friends you meet and that encourage you are really amazing.

    Oh yes, and I do have a blog...the link is - http://autumnreadsandwritesallday.blogspot.com

And on my blog I have other social media linked there.....

Have an amazing Valentines Day ♥

  5. Go Teen Writers, you guys are amazing. I have met SO many wonderful people it is crazy. Without this website and the people on it, I doubt I would've ever finished my first novel, or pursued writing as I have today. All of your posts are so helpful. I wouldn't know nearly as much about writing as I do now if it wasn't for you.

Go Teen Writer's is what also led me to start my blog: A Writer's Faith. I babble there about a lot of things, but my babblings mostly consist of writing and books.

I'm on the Procrastination for Writer's site. (*ahem* Pinterest) Here's My Profile.

  14. Happy Valentine's Day, all you sweet writers!

GTW is absolutely one of the best writing communities I've ever seen. You are all so encouraging and supportive, constantly willing to help one another out. Being a writer can be a lonely job, so I get so uplifted when I come here.

There are so many talented people here. As Mrs. Williamson said, you know how to respect your dreams, no matter how discouraging it can get. Just in the past few weeks I've been in a bit of a rut, questioning why I do this, why I spend so much time working toward something that may never even become anything. But after much thinking and prayer I realized it's always worth it. No matter where you are in your writing or how discouraged you are, you just have to keep pushing. Pushing and pushing and pushing. With every story, every word you write, you'll improve. So don't ever give up. I know it's tempting. Trust me, I've been tempted so many times. But we can't ever stop chasing our dreams.

There are a lot of bumps in the road, but when you see one, don't stop. Trek right through all those bumps until they batter and shape you into something beautiful. And, who knows, maybe one of those bumps will toss you toward something big and wonderful.

Keep dreaming and keep pushing! Your stories need to be told.

I absolutely love blogging about writing and talking with fellow writers.

  28. Happy (belated) Valentine's Day, my fellow writing peoples!!!

First of all, I'd like to thank Jill and Stephanie for putting so much of your time and effort into Go Teen Writers. It's my favorite writing site (even though I can't comment regularly) with its inspiring, informative articles and encouraging, heart-warming community. Reading the latest post is part of my breakfast routine. You two do a fantastic job and thank you so much!

Speaking of writing, there are so many talented, eager writers here and I love that! You all are such an encouragement to me and I want to share something I've learned over the last few years. I know it's so easy to read other writers WIPs and feel that our books are pathetic and how could we have possibly thought anything we write was worthwhile? But there is always more gold in your writing than you realize and for someone somewhere your style and stories are just the thing they're waiting for. I love some authors that my friends don't like at all, and THEY enjoy authors who I haven't the faintest interest in. In a nutshell: believe in yourself and have confidence in your abilities. Such thinking and perseverance works wonders!

I'm having a blast trotting about and following people. Here are some of my sites if anyone wishes to give me some love. Of course, I'd be thrilled. ^.^
