Shannon here. And we are winding down our summer panels. We have a couple more next week, but this might be the last one I'm hosting. I've really enjoyed them. I'm learning so much about you guys and I hope you're all learning a lot about us and about one another as well.

Anytime I can meet readers in person, I’m over the moon. I adore book signings, classes, and conferences, but those are very seasonal. I can be found all over the web as well: website, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest. I'm also sending out monthly newsletters again. But if I'm honest, Instagram is my favorite. I love meeting readers in person too! I realize that is a rare situation, though, so online is where it happens. I love interacting with readers on my author blog, on the GTW blog, or on my Readers of Jill Williamson Facebook group. I’m also on Instagram and Twitter and Pinterest. And you can email me through my website too, though I am notoriously slow and replying to emails.

In person is great, though I turn into the most awkward version of myself possible when people tell me they like my books. Second to IRL would be email, because it means a lot when people take time out of their day to send me an email just because they liked my book. I always respond to those. Online, Instagram is my fave too (find me here) but I also enjoy conversations on Twitter.
How about you guys? I realize some of you may not have readers, just yet. But how do you like to interact with the reading and writing community?
Personally, but over the internet, thank you. I don't like face to face interaction with people who say they like my writing XD

DeleteIn principle I like being in person, but when that happens I tend to get awkward and may or may not ramble on about one or other or several of my stories until I suddenly realize my audience looks bored. When I'm communicating through something written, I can edit out those parts.

DeleteI think I would find it awkward to meet in person, but if they really love my work, as most readers want, they'd like to meet the author in person. I suppose it would depend, but I think I'd rather speak online. I feel very mixed about this question. Its hard because I'm an introvert, but I would want to see my fans as well. If I ever get fans, that is. :D

DeleteOnline is my preferred way, as I'm not comfortable enough with my writing to accept praise without making a face and saying "Thank you, but this and this and this was horrible, so you have horrid taste." Maybe when I'm more confident/restrained, in person would be nice. I also enjoy snail mail, mainly because one of my good friendships started when a girl who read my book wrote to me. I wrote back, and we've been penpals for almost three or four years now.

DeleteI love people anyways - real life is best. Blog is second best. But I really enjoy emails, Instagram, and twitter. Facebook depends on my mood - sometimes it's too stressful ;p Right now I only have followers and beta readers - but those are still readers that are starting to become interested in my stuff :D
