This is it, ladies and gents! The very last Summer Panel of 2017! We've had a ton of fun with this and are looking forward to jumping back into a regular blogging schedule. Coming soon, we have a couple video blogs (remember those?) and some more instructional, craft related posts.
We are so ready for fall!
But today! Today, we have one last question.
When you're not reading or writing, what feeds your creative soul?

Rest.
I'm so busy going, going, going, I don't have time to think. The moment
I get away and rest--give my brain time to think about nothing--ideas
start rolling in. I love music. I love to sing. I love going to plays
and concerts, but that doesn't inspire me. My brain needs peace and
alone time to be inspired. And sometimes some pencils and some paper for
drawing maps helps too.

Traveling is a big one for me. I love my desk and my routine, but
getting away from both for a time dedicated to exploring and new
experiences always leaves me feeling more creative. Also, learning.
Whether it's podcasts, a sermon, or having a friend share a story from
their own life, I find much inspiration from soaking up the wisdom of
others.

Time to watch movies and get inspired by other stories.
ReplyDeleteYes! Writers are addicted to stories, whatever the format. ;)

NETFLIX!
DeleteMany things, honestly. Creating art in different forms such as painting or drawing. Movies often give me inspiration to create a world like no other. Blogging, but that might be considered writing. Minecraft is also something that not necessarily inspired my writing, but it helps me create things.
ReplyDeleteThese panels were fun, but I can't wait to read the regular posts again. :D

Art is such fun in all its forms! Even if the best drawings I can do are stick figures. :P
Delete-Ann
Exactly. I don't consider myself the best at drawing, but sometimes even just watching drawing videos on YouTube are just as inspiring.
DeleteI wish I had the skill to draw. I think it's a fantastic way to get the juices flowing.
DeleteBeing outside just to daydream. I also enjoy classic movies, because the actors of yesteryear were the masters of characterization in my opinion.
ReplyDelete-Ann
That's cool. Being out in nature can often help one relax and inspire us to dream. Do you like The Wizard of Oz? I'm not sure that's classified as classic, but I love that movie. :D
DeleteUm, Judy Garland--of course it's a classic! ;) I haven't seen that movie since I was a little tyke, though. The wicked witch freaked me out, but I'm probably old enough to re-watch it now without fear. :D The tin man was my favorite.
Delete-Ann
Oh yes! Outside it the best.
DeleteLots and lots of things really, including: being out in nature, drawing, painting, watching television (Mostly sci-fi), daydreaming, cooking, acting, and crocheting.
ReplyDeleteSciFi rocks!
DeleteMusic, singing, learning more about people, and art help me! :)
ReplyDeleteAll the creative stuff! Yes!
DeleteTalking with friends or just being in the presence of other people. Humans are very inspiring, at last for creative endeavors. My own dreams or extensive daydreams that I go to just to lose myself. And music.
ReplyDeletePeople! That's a fantastic inspiration.
DeleteDaydreaming, movies, and singing help me are some of the things that help to keep creative juices flowing even when I'm not reading/writing! It's pretty easy for me to find other creative/inspiring things around me when I pull my head out of my books xD.

Same!
DeleteSpending time with my friends and family. This often gives me ideas and scenes for stories:). Also, watching movies (especially classics) and doing calligraphy or painting.
ReplyDeleteHurray for the classics!
Delete-Ann
Oh calligraphy! I wish my hand was that steady.
DeleteMusic, art, the outdoors! Each of these fill up my soul in different ways.
ReplyDeleteYes! Yes! Yes!
DeleteArt!!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to choose... Honestly, I'm ALWAYS either reading or writing. xD But in those rare times that I'm not, drawing definitely feeds my creative soul. Usually my drawings are related to my writing (I draw maps and characters, usually). I love listening to music too.
ReplyDeleteHi, I requested to join the Facebook group...thanks :)
ReplyDeleteHorseback riding, Equine Training, and hanging out with friends! I also love doing joint books with friends as well it's so much fun!
ReplyDeleteDressing up and pretending to be different people. If I like the person I'm pretending to be enough then he/she will eventually become a story character.
