Invitations, Book Sales, and a Virtual Writing Retreat

Stephanie here. Jill and I are super excited to share that Go Teen Writers will be hosting a virtual writing retreat August 16th-18th. We're still hammering out the details on our end, but we envision it being a weekend of encouragement, socializing, and - of course - writing. Since this is an online event, all you need to participate is an internet connection and your work-in-progress. Jot a note on your calendars, and keep an eye on the blog for more details.

If you're on Twitter, this will be a great chance to interact with published writers (all the Playlist gals will be there - me, Laura L. Smith, Laura Anderson Kurk, Rajdeep Paulus, and Jennifer Murgia) and a chance to grab cool prizes.

    Yay! A virtual writing retreat!! That's the best kind (in my opinion, anyhow ;) because it doesn't matter what country you live in!! I'm off to mark my calendar.

    Perfect timing for the retreat! And as for unique voice in dailogue, that was EXACTLY what I've been looking for, I'm excited :D

    OK I have a question that has nothing to do with this post but I just really was wondering about this- do you know of any good critique groups out there for teens? I've been looking for one but I really don't see many out there. I'd really appreciate it if you could give me some suggestions. Thanks!

      If you're on Facebook, you can join the Go Teen Writers Facebook group. There are always lots of people who are happy to critique!

      Brittney Ann, I was looking for the same thing and failed. Maybe we can start one on Google plus? Otherwise, I wouldn't mind another critique partner! You can never have too many friends . . . or books . . . although, my bulging shelves beg to differ ;)

    A writing retreat... That. Sounds. Awesome. Period. I shall mark it on my dinky little quote-of-the-day flip calendar. :) And pray my parents don't have plans for that weekend.

    Sadly, I do not have twitter. Well, have fun, all ye who shall attend! Make up for the fun I won't have by having extra fun yourself. ;)

    I'm excited! Stephanie, I really like to write and want to publish a book. I think I may purchase the "Go Teen Writers" Book, for that!
    By any chance, could you please check for me if Tate Publishing is a good publishing company? Because I wanted to use that.

    Oh, that writing retreat sounds like an epic idea!! I hope I can make it! :D And I don't have a twitter account, but I hope you all have fun tonight! I almost want to get one for that... but since I'm participating in Camp NaNoWriMo, I should probably go write instead. :P Hope you all have fun, and really looking forward to that writing retreat! :D
