These writers wrote at least 100 words a day every day for 100 days, and many of them wrote even more than that!
The writers who wrote the most during the challenge were:
Melissa Gravitas: 92,012 words
Ash Scott: 73,492
Savannah Perran: 70,391
Amazing! For being in our top three, these writers earned their choice of a 1,000 word critique or a 20 minute Google Hangout session to talk over writerly things.
Three other finishers won their choice of several books, and the winners were Lydia Harrison, Kat Stulpin, and Tracey Dyck. Congratulations!
If you're curious about what it's like to do the challenge, Tracey Dyck wrote a summary of her experience, and it's a really interesting read about persevering. Thanks, Tracey!
Yay! Congrats, everyone! :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome job, everyone! I'm so proud of that whole list of names. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to my post, by the way!
Congrats to everyone for doing so well! This was such an amazing challenge to take part of, and it definitely pushed me in all the best ways. :D
ReplyDeleteCongrats everyone! It was such a fun challenge.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to everyone who's names are on that list! This was an awesome challenge - I'm definitely going to be joining the next time it's held :).

Stephanie, do you want me to email you a document with my 1,000 words?

Yay! I'm so glad I was able to finish. It was getting kind of tough toward the end there, and I am truly amazed to see the word counts of those who got more than I did. That is so awesome!!

I wrote at least 100 words everyday, and I totally failed last time I tried that. XD (It was awful.)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to everyone else who survived!
This was so much fun! I was barely sliding in the words there towards the end...so glad I made it though. ;) Congratulations everyone!!
ReplyDeleteThat was me too. I had a lot of steam going in but toward the end those words didn't want to flow.
DeleteHello, I have a question for the writing contest. Even though this isn't probably the right place to be asking this, I cannot find any contact info and I want to make sure my question gets answered. If for some reason, my file I've submitted doesn't work, will you send me a message saying so? Thank you,
ReplyDeleteEmma
Yes, we will! That's one reason why we need everyone to make sure they're entering the right email address!
DeleteAlright thank you so much :)
DeleteI feel like this is a really short list compared to other years . . . still, I'm very proud to have made it in there! Congrats to the others who completed it (and double congrats to those who won something)!
ReplyDeleteI thought that as well. I wonder if it was because fewer people participated or because fewer simply didn't finish?
DeleteYeah, I noticed that, too. I hope it's not indicative of less activity on GTW in general.
DeleteI was surprised too! We had over a hundred participants, which isn't as many as the very first time we did the challenge, but I don't think that's too far off from the last couple times. It's possible that there are people who have already tried the challenge and know it isn't for them, so they aren't doing it anymore? I don't know.
DeleteFor me, I joined but life got so crazy I just had no hope of finishing. I used my week off within the first month and it went downhill from there.
DeleteApparently, us Lydias are gifted at consistent writing, heh.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for running these 100 for 100 contests! I've been participating in them from the start, and frankly, if they didn't exist I may have ended up quitting writing long ago!
I love hearing that, Lydia! Congratulations on finishing!
DeleteA huge congratulations to all of you! I'm so in awe of everyone pushing through and doing this. You guys are AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteAnd a special shout-out to my dear Tracey and Savannah. So proud of you both! <333
*hugs* :D Thanks, Christine!
DeleteThank you so much, Christine! <3
DeleteCongratulations, everyone! Hopefully I will be on the list next time. I was a bit too busy this summer.
