NaNoWriMo Day 18 Check-In

I really struggled to stay on task today. Maybe it's a Friday thing? Or because I was getting interrupted by kid-related stuff more than normal? Even when I had a stretch of not-being-interrupted time, it was hard to buckle down and focus. I finally set a timer for myself hoping that it would make me stop popping over to email or Twitter.

How about you?

  1. OMG, I'm about to hit 40K tonight. Then I want to an all-day sprint tomorrow and write to my midpoint which should be around 45 to 48K, I think. Then just keep plowing on over thanksgiving break and see if I can get to 90K!

    1. i'm still working on the same novel I started a few years ago. Have not even hit 50k words the so called minimum of a novel. I'm 19 but I swear i'm gonna get this thing done before 20 years old. I will be graduating soon and such and I will have more time. Till then i'll keep writing when I have time. : )

  2. Sadly I've hit a wall. I think I ran out of steam just because so much other stuff has been going on in life lately. My brain just hasn't had the energy to focus on my story and I'm lucky if I get one chunk of time a week to write. Any suggestions, guys? I'm having trouble finding the excitement I need to do this even though I love my story idea.

    1. A similar thing happened to me over the summer. I only had one morning a week that I was able to dedicate time to writing, and it was so hard to make progress. I just couldn't get any momentum going. I started making much more progress when my kids were back in school, and I could write every day. But that's just not possible some seasons of life :(

  3. I reached 40k last night. Today (11/19) I'm at 41.5k. Not done writing yet.
