Getting words written on the weekends has been tough for me, and so far this weekend is no exception. I wrote zero words on Saturday. Maybe I'll get a few in on Sunday? Regardless, I'll be playing catch-up on Monday and Tuesday.
How has it been for you guys?
I just hit 35k but the past few days have been really slow. I know where the story is going and how I want to get there but I can't seem to concentrate for long enough to get anything more than a hundred or so words down. Any advice? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHey Elisa, I'm not doing NaNoWriMo myself, but I thought I could offer you some advice and see if it helps. Whenever I'm really distracted during writing and can't concentrate, I read over past parts of that story (normally ones that are relevant to the scene that I'm trying to write) to get myself "in the mood." Also, I always disconnect my computer from the internet while I write, which might be helpful if that's any sort of distraction for you. Otherwise, maybe you ought to write in short bursts throughout the day, never spending long enough to get distracted or fed up with the story.
DeleteI hit 50k on Saturday! I still have a long way to go, but it's nice to know I've finished the minimum.
ReplyDeleteThis weekend was tough as I went to visit friends. Saturday morning I managed 2000 words. I got up early Sunday and wrote 200. Then late Sunday night I wrote the rest.
