So I'm at zero words. Today I'm teaching at the One Year Adventure Novel summer workshop, so I think today will be another zero words day.
But tomorrow! Tomorrow is my day!
What's a word war?
How does it work?
You can also start mini word wars in the comments section of this blog, or on the Go Teen Writers Community Facebook group. (If you apply to join, leave me a comment on the blog so I can get you approved.)
The goal is to buckle down and focus on our manuscripts whenever we can, make good use of our writing time, and encourage each other as we write. Hopefully you'll be meeting new writers and deepening friendships as the war goes on!
How long does it last?
This word war began yesterday and will end Friday night. It's a come-and-go, write-when-you-can style of war, so it's never too late to join, and you don't have to participate every day.
Hope you have a great writing day!
I hope you feel better, Mrs. Morrill. Colds are a pain, especially in the summer.
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna try to write as much as I can. It's been so busy lately. *sigh*
Who wants to war?
ReplyDeleteI'd like to. Though, I don't know how long I can do it. I finally started a new WIP that I can stick with. Lol
DeleteTho, I've already written 196 words. I could go from them and see how much words I can put in.
If you want real competition, then you might want to wait for someone else. It all depends on what kind of war you want. :)
I might not be able to do it for long...
DeleteWait, I understand it now. Sorry, I got confused. Yeah, you can war me for the whole day if you'd like. (Meaning, Whoever has written the most today. I think that's how it goes.)
DeleteOh, the last one I did we tried to to write as many words as possible in X amount of time
DeleteSounds good. So what I wrote from like...an hour or less ago, would count in the word war?
DeleteI wrote about 308 words in 30 minutes ^v^.
ReplyDeleteAwesome job! Hey, did you draw your profile picture? It's really awesome. :D
DeleteI was wondering if you drew it as well! If you did, then that's amazing.
DeleteWow, 308 words in 30 min?! Good for you, Kitbis! :)
Yes, I drew my profile picture ^v^.
DeleteGood job! I love those types of drawings. I dunno, but they just make me happy for some reason. ^_^
Delete621 words!
ReplyDeleteI didn't time myself. *shakes head in disappointment.* Still trying to get the hang of this. However, my total work count of the day is 1,659 words for my WIP. Tomorrow, I'll see how much I can write in fifteen minutes. I technically got 1,662 if you count a chapter heading. I didn't because I wasn't sure.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, great job to everyone else. Y'all are awesome! <3
I wrote 783 words on a 20000-word story I'm trying to get together for a writing contest . . . I only started the first draft yesterday; and I was really anxious at first, but now that I'm actually getting into it it's so much fun!!
ReplyDeleteI did 1,138 words the last couple hours. Sheesh, I did a lot of research.
ReplyDeleteI feel good though. This word war has helped me write more. It's great. :)
Ya'll are doing great! <3
God bless you all. He loves you. :)
I had a great day, 2422 words! I never got much down yesterday, but today was definitely productive for me. I don't know how long it took, but oh well.
ReplyDeleteGood job everybody! =)
Great job, Gwen! 2422 words is amazing! Yesterday I only got 199 down. Eek.
DeletePlus, I was on writer's block. It was horrid.
Eh, time doesn't matter. lol This contest-thing helps our WIPs. Well, mine at least. :)
Thanks. :)
Numbers 6:24-26
I totally forgot to see how long it took me, too, lol :)
DeleteMy goal today was three thousand, I beat that by 1,913 words! (Yay!) I'm currently on the third novel in my series and just started it. I was struggling with chapter 2's POV character, so I skipped that and went to the next chapter that I plotted out and got two chapters there.
ReplyDeleteAll in all, I wrote 4,913 words. I feel very accomplished!
Awesome!!
DeleteI write just over 2,000 words today in about 2.5 hours, and just crested the 50k mark in my manuscript! ^_^ Not the fastest writing ever, but it's progress.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, well done! :O And congratulations for hitting the 50k mark of your manuscript! Eeee! :D Do you have a goal word count in mind for it?
DeleteKoko <3
Thanks, Koko! (Based on your profile name, are you really Australian? Because you get bonus cool points for that! ;D) My word count goal is 80-90k, with plans to reach that by the end of this month.
DeleteWhat have you been writing? :)
1752. Not my best, but it's a lot better than I would be doing without the word war! :D
ReplyDeleteI didn't get any writing done yesterday because we were at Disney (yay! :) and we got home at midnight, but I wrote some this morning. Since we're on vacation, I didn't bring my computer so I'm writing by hand! Yay but ouch, I have a hand cramp now. 😂 Also, I had to count the words myself, so that was fun. :) I wrote an estimated 300 words in about an hour--not my best but pretty good considering I'm writing on the balcony and my siblings are watching Gilligan's Island behind me. :) :)
